YOUNG people with disabilities are being helped into work by a new project.
Researchers say the young people on the Project Search scheme in North Lanarkshire have also benefited from increased happiness, independence and improved health.
The youngsters also make new friends and learn new skills.
Findings of the Social Return on Investment (SROI) evaluation outlined the impact and social value the programme is having in delivering employment, training and support.
By working in a number of placements over the course of a year, students are able to demonstrate skills they can use when looking for paid work.
The first Project Search site in Scotland was established in Wishaw General Hospital in 2010. Other sites have since opened at Monklands Hospital, Airdrie and at Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.
Stacey Rogers, who works at Monklands after taking part in the project, said: "I am a domestic at the hospital. I love my job."
