Thomas Montguire, 31, and John Walker, 48, each put their partners through years of horrendous domestic abuse.

Montguire was convicted in November of raping and battering three women, as well as attempting to throttle another girlfriend.

Walker pleaded guilty in December to tortur-ing and raping four women over a 20-year period.

The thug duo were due to be dealt with yesterday by Judge Bill Dunlop during separate hearings at the High Court in Glasgow.

But the pair - who could both face life behind bars - will have to return to court to allow lawyers time to consider pre-sentencing reports.

Montguire, who joked with family before yesterday's hearing, will appear next month. Walker is due back in the dock this month.
