The author of an award-winning fictional account of Brian Clough's ill-fated stint at Leeds United is writing a novel about another footballing legend - ex-Liverpool manager Bill Shankly.
David Peace, whose The Damned United was made into a film by Les Miserables director Tom Hooper, will publish Red Or Dead in August.
Shankly started his working life as a coal miner in Lanarkshire and is widely regarded as having laid the foundations for decades of success at Anfield.
