THE countdown is on for this year's Cumbernauld 10K and runners are being urged to take advantage of an early bird discounted entry price.
Those who apply by this Friday will pay £15 instead of the full price of £17.
The race takes place on Sunday, September 22, starting from Broadwood Stadium.
Last year's race attracted more than 670 runners.
For the first time the race will finish inside Broadwood Stadium, creating a grandstand atmosphere.
And for the serious athletes, there will be pacemakers to help achieve target times throughout the route.
Lining up around the main 10K race, there will be 1K runs for P5 to P7 children and a 3K event for S1 to S4 pupils as well as a Victory Mile for wheelchair users.
Throughout the day, there will be family entertainment in and around the stadium.
To register for the race, log on to www.q-busters.co.uk or call 01236 437756.
