SISTERS Tracey and Debbie Dalziel swung into action to help launch a new obstacle race which is coming to Glasgow this summer.

The sisters, together with friends Robert Burrell and Kim Dunlop, were put through their paces at Glasgow's Pollok Park where the Adrenaline Rush event is being held on July 25.

The 5km and 10km urban assault course, which is being launched by Macmillan Cancer Support and InMotion Sport, will include mud pits, flour bombs and trapezes.

A quarter of the entry fee for the event will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, with an early-bird deal being offered for all entries before March 31.

Tracey and Debbie, from Glasgow, are taking part in the race as part of Team DL in memory of their dad Larry, who died from throat cancer in 2009.

The pair has raised more than £20,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support since 2012, by taking part in marathons, holding coffee mornings and climbing Ben Nevis.

Debbie, 47, who is manager of a Jacques Vert concession in the Argyle Street Debenhams store, has also held all-day fitness challenge events at work.

Tracey, 43, who runs a plumbing and heating company, said: "We're doing this for dad and to help other people living with cancer."

Robert, 33, an engineering consultant from Renfrew, and Kim, 45, a clerical officer from Hamilton, will join the sisters at the Adrenaline Rush event.

April Davidson, Regional Challenge Event Programme Manager for Scotland at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "Adrenaline Rush is brand new this year and set to be a brilliant day out. The course has been specifically designed to challenge entrants of all fitness abilities and we're delighted to be holding it at Glasgow's Pollok Park. Although fundraising is not compulsory, those taking part also have the opportunity to fundraise to help us reach more people affected by cancer, so go ahead and get your adrenaline pumping in the name of Macmillan."
