A NEW opinion poll shows the SNP and Labour almost neck and neck in Glasgow.
The poll by Populous of UK General Election voting plans shows support for the SNP in Glasgow increasing in equal measure to it falling for Labour.
The poll found Labour had 38 per cent support, while the SNP was on 36 per cent, a cut of 18.2 per cent for Labour and an increase of 18.7 per cent for the SNP.
The poll was welcomed by SNP politicians who said it was proof of the trust placed in the SNP intheir time in Government.
James Dornan, Glasgow Cathcart SNP MSP said: "After seven-and-half years in government people are putting their trust in the SNP to stand up for Scotland, and ensure that the 'extensive new powers' we were promised by the Westminster parties in the referendum are delivered.
"A strong team of SNP MPs will hold Westminster to account and ensure that Scotland's voice is head and interests are protected."
In Edinburgh the SNP were ahead, up 22 per cent to 35, with Labour down 13 per cent to 24 per cent.
