Sports quiz goal to beat Alzheimer's

FOOTBALLERS past and present will today launch a project aimed at improving the lives of those with dementia.

Motherwell players, as well as ex-Dunferm-line player and boss Bert Paton and Hibs star Willie Hunter, will take part in Quizball at Motherwell's Fir Park.

They will compete in a spoof of the TV show to launch the Football Memories Programme.

Researchers say memories of iconic moments in football could help fight Alzheimer's.

The event is run by NHS Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire Council, Alzheimer's Scotland, Motherwell FC and Comic Relief.
