Stateside stars on the ball

AMERICAN rugby stars paid a special visit to a Glasgow school to hand youngsters the chance to give the sport a try.

Excited pupils at Camstradden Primary School in Drumchapel welcomed the stars, including players Peter Tiberio and Nick Edwards.

The Eagles 7s visit was part of a series of events leading up to the Sevens World Series, to be held in the city's Scotstoun Stadium this weekend.

Alex Magleby, Eagles 7s coach, said after his players' visit: "It's really good for our guys to get out and about - particularly, for a lot of them, as it's their first visit to Glasgow.

"It's tremendous to share our sport with kids who are excited about it."

The Glasgow 7s will see 16 of the best teams in the world compete over a whole weekend of world-class sevens rugby.
