Stone Roses plan Glasgow Green show

LEGENDARY Manchester band the Stone Roses have announced they are to play a gig at Glasgow Green next summer.

The reformed four-piece will team up with Glasgow's own Primal Scream for the June 15 concert, with further support provided by Jake Bugg and Dundee rockers The View.

In a brief statement on the their website, the band said: "The Stone Roses have announced three UK shows in June 2013.

"The group will play two nights in London's Finsbury Park on June 7 and 8 followed by a single show at Glasgow Green on June 15.

"The supports for the Glasgow show are Primal Scream, Jake Bugg and The View. Supports for London will be announced shortly."

Glasgow Green was the scene of one of the Roses' best-regarded live appearances on June 9, 1990.

Bassist Mani later said: "When we were on stage that day, we all looked at each other, and then just went up another level."

The band recently entered the Guinness World Book af Records after all 220,000 tickets for their Heaton Park comeback gigs earlier this year sold out in just 68 minutes.

Tickets for the London and Glasgow shows go on sale at 9.30am on Friday.
