STUDENTS are hosting a comedy night in aid of charity.

Students from the University of the West of Scotland are to host the event at Glasgow's The Stand for Diabetes UK.

Organised by Events Management student Jo Kilcoyne, the evening will be hosted by Billy Kirkwood and will feature comedians Mark Nelson, Gareth Mutch, Susie McCabe and Ryan Carlton.

Proceeds from the gig will benefit Diabetes UK, which cares for people living with, and at risk of, all types of diabetes.

Jo said: "Diabetes directly affects my family - my Granddad was insulin dependent for the last fifteen years of his life, and my Dad was diagnosed almost ten years ago.

""I have personally seen what diabetes can do, so when the opportunity to volunteer with Diabetes Scotland came up, I couldn't pass it by."

Tickets are £5 each and can be reserved prior to the event by calling the box office on 0141 212 3389 or bought at the door on the night.
