THE EVENING Times has teamed up with a city university to offer a unique twist on student life.

The new Bloody Students! blog, to be launched on Monday, will be written by aspiring journalists hoping to wow readers with their daily experiences in Glasgow.

The group of 12 young writers are all in their senior years of journalism courses at Glasgow Caledonian University, and will be adding their intriguing tales and stories of their personal experiences to the site every week.

Evening Times editor Tony Carlin said: " Glasgow has well in excess of 100,000 students, each of whom has a different take on life, studies and the city.

"Our team of journalism student bloggers from Glasgow Caledonian will share some of those unique views which will raise smiles, entertain, occasionally offend ...and sometimes bewilder old fogies like myself.

"They're young, funny, challenging, cheeky and unique and they will offer something completely unique for our website users ... I just hope they don't land me in court!"

The group were selected for their outstanding writing ability and opinionated views on topics affecting them and their peers.

Charles Fletcher, project manager, SAID: " This blog is going to be written by a variety of young journalism students who have shown already they have great style for writing.

"They'll be writing about their life and times in the Evening Times online, and linking events to the fact they are also students.

"It's not going to be a case of late nights, missing mornings and lots of booze although that may figure in part of it. Its an exciting exploration of the life and times of student sin Glasgow.

"They will all have something of huge interest for every reader - individual styles, individual stories, some laugh out loud moments and we'd expect some moments which may make you shed a tear too."

Launching via the Evening Times website, fresh stories will be posted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays of each week.
