A MAN accused of staring at the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in her constituency office has had his trial adjourned until later this year.

Dogan Arslan, 48, is accused of staring at her in her Pollokshaws Road office from a parked car outside.

Arslan, from Battlefield, in the South Side, is alleged to have carried out the offence between October and December 2012.

It is alleged that he "engaged in course of conduct" which caused people in the office, including SNP politician Nicola Sturgeon "fear and alarm".

It is claimed Arslan "repeatedly loitered within a parked motor vehicle in the vicinity of the office premises" and stared at the offices and Ms Sturgeon.

The case called on Thursday at Glasgow Sheriff Court for trial but sheriff Joan Kerr granted a defence motion for the trial to be adjourned for further inquiries to be made.

Another trial diet was set for August this year and Arslan's bail was continued.
