GAELIC teaching in Scotland has been boosted by a new course running in Glasgow.
The Gaelic Immersion for Teachers (GIfT) course at Strathclyde University offers qualified teachers who have learned Gaelic to intermediate level the chance to become fluent for work in Gaelic medium schools across Scotland, including Glasgow.
Nine Scottish teachers across Scotland will immerse themselves in Gaelic for a year.
Course director Joanna McPake, said: "It's an intensive course - seven hours of Gaelic a day, no English allowed.
"By the end, they have to be able to teach any aspect of the curriculum through Gaelic."
