FIRE bosses have thanked community members who contributed to a memorial commemorating Glasgow's fallen firefighters.
A series of 12 plaques were laid around the city to honour the memory of those killed while protecting the public.
And communities across Glasgow have worked to illustrate the sites with art.
George McGrandles, area manager of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, said: "The city has suffered devastating and tragic fires.
"So it is fitting the people of Glasgow have played their part in creating this lasting memorial to firefighters.
"Older people, school children and youth groups have taken part, alongside artists and retired firefighters, in projects to recognise generations of fire- fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice."
As first told in the Evening Times, the Firefighters' Heritage Trail marks sites such as the Theatre Royal and St George's Cross.
Groups across the city have been involved in creating artwork to illustrate the sites, working with charity Impact Arts and the creation of the trail was made possible due to a £54,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
