The View to play free gig in city

GLASGOW audiences will be treated to a free gig and signing session by Scottish band The View on Sunday.

The Dundee hitmakers will be celebrating the release of their new album, Cheeky For A Reason, with an in-store performance at music store hmv on Buchanan Street.

Those attending will be able to buy the new album to be signed by the band, ahead of its UK release on Monday.

The release is the indie rock band's fourth, following on from their Mercury-nominated number one debut, Hats Off To The Buskers.

The self-penned work also includes three songs written by vocalist and guitarist Kyle Falconer and bassist Kieren Webster with writer, producer and unofficial fifth member of Kings of Leon, Angelo Petraglia.

Producer Mike Crossey has also worked with Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight and Foals.

The free Glasgow performance will take place on Sunday at 4pm at hmv, Buchanan Street.

The band will also be playing a gig at the O2 Academy, Sauchiehall Street, on Thursday, July 12.
