TICKETS for a fun-run dubbed the happiest 5k on the planet are on sale.

Glasgow will welcome its first Color Run on June 21.

And now the tickets for the Emirates Arena event, which saw more than 85,000 runners take part in the UK last year, have gone on sale.

Now in its third year, the event has spread its love, fun and colour to more than 50 countries, with more than 300 events worldwide.

James Robinson, Managing Director of event organisers Challenger World said: "We can't wait for The Color Run to make its Scottish debut.

"I have no doubt that the people of Glasgow will go colour crazy and love the event as much as we do.

"With this new location, and a brand new dazzling twist, the summer of 2015 promises to be even bigger and better than last year."

Deputy Leader of Glasgow City council and chairman of Glasgow Life, Councillor Archie Graham, said: "Glasgow is home to some of Scotland's biggest and best running events and we are delighted to be welcoming the Color Run to the city for the first time this year.

"I've no doubt the people of Glasgow will turn out in large numbers to enjoy the party atmosphere as The Color Run takes over the Emirates Arena."

The Color Run is not timed, so participants can walk, jog, dance and party their way along the course at any pace.

Starting in a white t-shirt and reaching colour zones at every kilometre, there's no way to finish without being covered from head to toe in kaleidoscopic colour.

At the finish line, colour covered partygoers join the festival area.

The Glasgow edition of The Color Run takes place at Emirates Arena on Sunday June 21, 2015.

Registration opened on Wednesday. Event entries cost £26 for individuals and £24 p/person for group bookings. Participants should visit www.TheColorRun.co.uk to enter now.
