A top Glasgow chef was forced to cook on a camping stove after he and his neighbours had their gas cut off.
John Quigley, owner of city restaurant Red Onion, had to make do with two temporary cooking rings after homes in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire, were left without gas for three days.
Scores of homes were hit after gas pressure fell to dangerously low levels when a burst water main affected supplies.
Each home affected was issued with emergency cooking rings and electric heaters.
John, a former chef to rock stars Bryan Adams, Tina Turner and Guns n’ Roses, provided tips to his neighbours on what to cook using limited resources.
He said: “I know how to handle these things and suggested pasta dishes, risottos.”
A spokesman for Scotland Gas Networks said: “Everyone is now back on supply.”
