THE parents of Glasgow student Karen Buckley are expected to lay their beloved daughter to rest on Tuesday.
It is understood that members of the Buckley family accompanied the 24-year-old's body on a flight from Glasgow to Cork on Sunday.
It is thought that Karen's body was then taken to Mourneabbey where she grew up on a farm.
Karen's body will lie at O'Connell's Funeral Home, Mallow, from 4pm to 8pm today before being brought to the church in Analeentha in Mourneabbey.
A funeral mass is due to take place at the Church of St Michael the Archangel, Analeentha at 2pm tomorrow before burial at St John's Cemetery in nearby Burnfort, also in the parish.
A death notice posted on RIP.ie said: "Buckley (Glynn, Mourneabbey, Co. Cork) on 12th April 2015 unexpectedly, Karen, beloved daughter of John and Marian and dear sister of Brendan, Kieran and Damien.
"Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents, brothers, grandmother, uncles, aunts, sister-in-law Niamh, cousins, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.
"May she rest in peace."
Karen, a qualified nurse who was studying occupational therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University, was reported missing after she failed to return home from a night out at the Sanctuary nightclub in Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, in the early hours of April 12.
Her body was found in High Craigton Farm, north of Glasgow, following a four day search.
As the Evening Times reported on Saturday, Alexander Pacteau, 21, who is charged with her murder, made a second appearance in court on Friday.
He is accused of attacking her with a spanner and strangling her.
He is accused of then covering her body in "corrosive substances" and putting the student in a barrel.
Pacteau, who is also accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice, made no plea or declaration at the private hearing.
Pacteau was remanded in custody following the full committal hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
It is expected he will stand trial later this year.
