Train-users face 5 weeks of disruption

COMMUTERS are being warned they face overcrowding on trains between Glasgow and Edinburgh after carriages had to be withdrawn because of storm damage.

Passengers on key routes will face up to five weeks of disruption on rush-hour trains as ScotRail carries out repairs on carriages that were damaged during severe gales.

The company said 11 services, most of them between Glasgow and Edinburgh, would operate with fewer carriages as it did not have enough rolling stock to double-up trains at peak times.
