A Gaelic translation service which predicts the correct spelling of words has been launched.

The software works in a similar way to predictive texting on mobile phones.

Organisations that have already signed up to use it include the Scottish Parliament, Forestry Commission, NHS Highland and Scottish Natural Heritage.

David Boag, of Bòrd na Gàidhlig, said: "The project will strengthen the consistency and efficiency of Gaelic translation work undertaken by Scottish public authorities, which will result in a better service for the public."
