Police are stepping up the search for a Scots RAF serviceman who has been missing for almost a week.

Corrie McKeague, 23, from Dunfermline, was last seen in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, in the early hours of September 24.

Officers have been trawling CCTV footage for sightings, the National Police Air Service helicopter has been scouring the area and a Suffolk Police spokesman said ground searches were set to expand beyond the Bury St Edmunds and Honington area over the weekend.

The RAF and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue have also been involved with search efforts.

Mr McKeague was last seen at around 3.20am on Saturday.

Police are asking anyone who may have spoken to him during last Friday evening and in the time up to 3.20am, and anyone who may have seen him after the last confirmed sighting in Brentgovel Street at around 3.20am on Saturday, to come forward.

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have talked to Mr McKeague before 3.20am and anyone who may have seen him after 3.20am.

Mr McKeague is described as white, 5ft 10in, of medium build, with short light brown hair.

He was wearing a light pink shirt and white jeans or trousers.

Police are asking anyone with information to get in touch as a "matter of urgency".
