The family of murdered teenager Paige Doherty has launched a #NoJusticeforPaige campaign after a judge reduced her killer's sentence by four years.

Last week killer John Leathem had his sentence reduced from 27 years to 23 years for the brutal murder of the schoolgirl.

Leathem murdered Paige in his Delicious Deli shop in Clydebank after she stopped for a breakfast roll.

The shop owner attacked the teenager with a knife inside the shop, leaving nearly 150 injuries, including 61 stab wounds.

He put her body in the back of his car and later dumped her in bushes in Clydebank on March 19, 2016.

The father-of-two launched an appeal to have his 27-year sentence reduced and compared his sentence to the 23-year sentence given to killer Alexander Pacteau who murdered Irish student Karen Buckley and attempted to dissolve her body.

Paige's mother Pamela Munro, and step-dad Andy Munro campaigned to block Leathem's appeal.

A petition opposing a cut in his jail term had been signed by around 11,000 people.

Senior judges at the Appeal Court in Edinburgh quashed the original punishment.

Paige's parents have now launched campaign #NoJusticeForPaige in a bid to change victims' rights in memory of the teenager.

A post on Facebook read: "After last weeks heartbreaking news, we can't take this lying down.

"We have fought from the start and we won't give up no. Last weeks news is an insult to Paige's life, her murder and her legacy and we are not walking away with this decision.

"Tonight we are asking that you take a photo of yourself with a sign saying #NoJusticeForPaige and nominate 3 people to do the same and follow the trend.

"We hope to take over social media and show the world, and more importantly - those in the authorities, that we are not accepting this decision and we will fight for Paige's justice until the end.

"Please help us spread awareness as we call for a change in the laws regarding treatment of victims rights and that we welcome tougher, longer and more appropriate sentencing for this category of criminals.

"Right now, individuals in prison can gain access to qualifications, personal trainers and have full protection. Paige has been denied her qualifications and had no protection the day she chose to get her breakfast before work.

"Please help us raise awareness to say this is not acceptable. People's lives are worth more than this, and those that murder should not have these privileges. Families should not be insulted by this. Victims who are killed should have more respect.

"Paige's Mum & Dad have kick started this tonight. We have come this far, please keep supporting Paige and the team. Keep helping us raise awareness. Paige - keep sending us strength to carry on.

"Heart felt thank you from us all. We are forever in your debt."

Hundreds of sympathisers have joined the campaign since it launched last night.
