A WOMAN will stand trial later this month accused of razor-slashing child-slayer mother Theresa Riggi at Scotland's only all-female prison.
Angela Hamilton, 40, is accused of repeatedly slashing the triple killer in the face with a razor blade, leaving her scarred.
Riggi, 49, killed her three children – eight-year-old twins Austin and Gianluca, and their sister Cecilia, aged five – in August 2010, stabbing each of them eight times in a crime that shocked Scotland.
She then allegedly tried to cover up their deaths with a gas explosion, before trying to kill herself by leaping out of their second-floor Edinburgh flat.
She was initially charged with murder but later admitted culpable homicide on the grounds of diminished responsibility and was jailed for 16 years.
Hamilton, now a resident at Leverndale Hospital, Glasgow, is alleged to have attacked Riggi in her cell on November 19, 2011.
Riggi had to be rushed to hospital.
Sheriff John Mundy continued the case for trial by jury at Falkirk on July 29.
