Cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his four-legged friend Gromit paid a flying visit to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Yorkhill.

The characters were in town yesterday to hand over a cheque for £8,000 to the hospital’s Yorkhill Children’s Foundation charity.

The money was raised from last year’s Wrong Trousers Day and will go towards a music programme with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in the children’s hospital.

Shona Cardle, chief executive of the charity said: “We are extremely grateful to the Wallace and Gromit’s Children’s Foundation for their continued support.

“Wallace and Gromit’s visit is a real treat for the children at Yorkhill and there is be great excitement at the thought of meeting them.”

Now the duo are travelling across the UK, visiting nine cities in their quest to raise awareness for this year’s Wrong Trousers Day, on Friday June 25.

The fun fundraising event sees people donate £1 to swap their normal work clothes for weird, wacky or just plain wrong trousers.
