MILLIONS of television viewers watched a reconstruction of the unsolved murder of dog walker Jean Campbell.

The Glasgow grandmother was brutally killed in Cranhill Park almost six months.

During an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch last night, viewers watched a reconstruction of Mrs Campbell's last movements showing her walking her dog, Kai.

It is hoped last night's show will lead to new lines of inquiry. Officers will be following up any information passed to them during the show.

Mrs Campbell, 53, was last seen walking with her dog towards Cranhill Park, near her home in the East End, on Friday, December 13.

Her body was discovered at around 7.40am the next day by her husband who, on returning from his night shift, realised she was not home and went to look for her. As previously reported by the Evening Times, the murder inquiry has seen police take more than 1500 DNA samples from men and women in the Cranhill area.

Mrs Campbell's daughter Lianne, 34, also took part in the TV appeal. Speaking through tears, she said: "My dad always walked the dog before work. But I do know, obviously later on that night, she's taken the dog out twice, for whatever reason. And the second time, she never made it home."

Detective Chief Inspector Colin Carey also appeared on the show and appealed for information.
