STAR bakers Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood passed on some expert tips to Glasgow fans of the popular show.

The Great British Bake Off judges opened the BBC Good Food Show yesterday, at the SECC, with cake-making masterclasses.

Saturday Kitchen star James Martin and Masterchef's John Torode will also be cooking up a storm in the 600-seat Supertheatre this weekend.

The three-day event will also feature the Producers' Village, a huge speciality food market at the heart of the show, packed with small artisan producers.

It will also host tasting sessions and presentations to competition winners, including Glasgow's best deli.

The team have been scouring Glasgow and the surrounding area to find the winner, which has now been confirmed as Billington's of Lenzie.

Other nominees included Roots and Fruits, Peckhams and Delizique.

The Great British Bake Off 2013 final will take place on Tuesday. Bookies' favourite is currently Ruby Tandoh, who was crowned Star Baker an impressive three times during the competition.

She will be up against Kimberley Wilson and Frances Quinn, who have both won Star Baker at least once, as the fourth BBC series reaches its climax.
