The disgraced former Rangers owner was held when police swooped to execute an arrest warrant. Prosecutors are now working to extradite Whyte back to Glasgow. Rangers manager Ally McCoist said: "I am pleased that the police are doing something about it. I think everybody in the club is." Asked if he will be called as a witness to forthcoming court proceedings into the 2011 sale of the club, he replied: "I've been sent information that that might be a possibility." A Crown Office spokesman said: "We have been advised that the warrant for Craig Whyte has been executed by the Mexican authorities, and our International Co-operation Unit, working with Police Scotland's Fugitives Unit and the National Crime Agency, will take the necessary steps to secure his appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court to answer the warrant." A warrant was issued two weeks ago in connection with Whyte's purchase of the Ibrox club for £1 from Sir David Murray in 2011. Four men appeared in court earlier this month charged with alleged fraudulent activity linked to the sale of the Ibrox club. Gary Withey, 50, David Whitehouse, 49, Paul Clark, 50, and David Grier, 53, were granted bail following a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
