A 17-year-old youth was feared dead today after he plunged into the River Clyde in Glasgow city centre.
Police divers hunting for Steven Clark were focusing their search on a stretch of the river near the Broomielaw.
The teenager, from Gorbals, was out with a group of friends when the incident happened.
The alarm was raised about 7.20pm last night by friends and a full-scale search was launched.
A police spokesman said: "Mr Clark was last seen entering the river near the suspension
footbridge from Carlton Place.
"The search to find him has re-commenced using specialist officers from the Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit."
