FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at Glasgow's Red Road flats.
Crews were quickly on the scene in Balornock after smoke was spotted coming from one of the skyscrapers.
Fire chiefs said a member of the public raised the alarm at around 1.40pm on Wednesday.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: "At around 1.40pm we received a 999 call from a member of the public reporting smoke coming from a block of flats in Petershill.
"Four appliances from Calton and Springburn arrived at the scene within four minutes.
"The fire has now been extinguished.
"Crews remain at the scene."
