A MAN suffered head and hand injuries when he was seriously assaulted by a gang of four in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

The 26-year-old was attacked by three men and one woman around 1pm on Sunday.

The victim was close to Tummel Way where he was attacked.

He suffered head and hand injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was released following treatment.

Officers want to speak to three men and a woman in connection with the incident.

There are limited descriptions of those involved however the men were understood to be wearing dark hooded tops.

Detective Constable Laura Watt, from Paisley CID, said: "This was a violent attack which left the victim shaken and badly injured.

"It is very important that we trace this group as quickly as possible to assist with our investigation. If you were in the area at the time and noticed a group, or heard a disturbance, I would ask that you make contact with the police as soon as possible."
