A SECTION of crumbling road at a busy centre thoroughfare has been closed off for repair works.
A 2ft by 2ft hole has appeared on the south side of George Square, next to Greggs bakery, causing disruption for public transport.
The patch of road had previously been repaired however the hole has appeared again following the work.
Traffic travelling through the square is affected as the nearside lane has been narrowed.
Buses have been forced to merge into one lane with other traffic before the junction, as the exit lane is blocked.
A council spokeswoman said: "The team are doing some investigation work and are confident the hole will be repaired today."
It is currently unknown if motorists, who are able to travel through the square after 7pm, will be affected.
