FIREFIGHTERS rescued 35 people who were stranded in a supermarket by floodwater after a river burst its banks.
Specialists water rescue crews were called to the Asda supermarket in Queen's Drive, Kilmarnock.
It is understood members of staff and customers were stranded by floodwater.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said there were no injuries.

On the M77, motorists were urged to take care as debris blocked the southbound lane at Junction 2.
Meanwhile, a woman has died after a car and a van collided on the M74 motorway in Dumfriesshire.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the smash north of junction 20 at Eaglesfield.
Police are seeking an injured man who is believed to have left the scene of the crash shortly after 5.45am on Monday.
