Hollywood star Julianne Moore has sent a message of support to a Scottish production of a musical based on her book.
Scottish Youth Theatre (SYT) will perform Freckleface Strawberry The Musical in Glasgow next month.
The show, which tells the story of a girl who will do anything to get rid of her freckles, will be performed by a group of young people from across Scotland.
The red-headed actress, who has starred in films including The Hours, Far From Heaven and A Single Man, sent her best wishes to the production.
She said: "I am so delighted that you are presenting Freckleface Strawberry at your theatre.
"My mother was from Greenock and she would have been so happy that the show made it to Scotland. I so wish I could see a performance, but I will be with you all in spirit."
Freckleface Strawberry The Musical runs from April 11 to 21 at various times in Scottish Youth Theatre's own Brian Cox Studio Theatre.
SYT said it will be the first time the show has been performed in Scotland.
