Impaled teenager in intensive care

A TEENAGE hotel worker impaled on railings after falling from a penthouse party remains in intensive care.

The 19-year-old man suffered "horrific" injuries after plummeting around 60ft from a rooftop terrace at the Blythswood Square

hotel in Glasgow and landing on spiked

metal railings below.

He was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he

remains today.

The young man was attending a private party on the rooftop terrace of the five-star hotel's penthouse suite, which costs £1500 per night, when the incident happened

Hotel bosses confirmed the man fell from the roof in what is believed to have been an accident.

Emergency services were called to the

hotel at 5am on Wednesday following

a 999 call from a member of the public.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident."
