Exam results for Scotland's school pupils have today been released by the Scottish Government.
Attainment levels for each council area are now available to parents, giving an overview of Higher and Standard Grade passes.
East Renfrewshire generally tops the table each year and 2013 is expected to see the council retain its first place in the league.
Glasgow City Council regularly comes around the bottom of the schools league tables, although education bosses claim the city's secondaries are constantly improving.
Although school league tables are a marker for educational attainment, they are also criticised by education experts for failing to give a rounded view of achievements in other areas.
We're publishing ranked lists by council area, using three or more passes at Higher as the benchmark, but we've also included the percentage of pupils on free school meals - an indicator of deprivation, which can be linked to reduced attainment.
