A woman was tied up by a thief who climbed through a window into her home and stole her jewellery.
The 56-year-old was threatened with a knife during the overnight raid in Glasgow's Ibrox area.
She was in her bedroom at her home in Clifford Street on Thursday when a man in his 30s entered the property via an open window at around 4.20am.
He tied up the woman while he searched the flat and released her before leaving with items of jewellery and her mobile phone.
Police said the householder was not injured but "extremely shaken" by the robbery.
Detective Constable Grant Hay said: "It is totally unacceptable for anyone to be left feeling vulnerable in their own home and the person who carried out this crime must be caught.
"Enquiries are continuing in the local area and officers are studying CCTV images to gather more information on the identity of the man responsible.
"We do however need the help of the local community and ask that anyone who may have seen this man hanging around the area prior to the robbery taking place, or anyone who seen him leave the address around sometime between 5am and 5.30am, to contact police immediately."
The suspect is described as white, 30 to 35 years old, around 6ft and slim. He had a red mark on his right cheek and was wearing jeans, a black jacket, and a black hat and gloves.
