The 25-year-old was serious assaulted while with friends at the Electric Frog Festival, outside the Riverside Museum.

Two men started speaking to her and an argument broke out.

One of the men attacked the victim and she was rushed to the Western Infirmary.

After receiving treatment for a head injury, she was released.

It happened at around 9pm on Saturday.

Police said the suspect is described as a white male, with local accent and between 20 and 25years-old.

He has short brown hair and was wearing a red polo style t-shirt.

Detective Constable Gillian Wood, from Partick Police Office, is appealing for witnesses.

She said: "Enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this assault.

"I would appeal to patrons of the festival who witnessed the incident or anyone who knows the identity of the suspect to come forward."

Anyone with any information is asked to call Partick CID on 101.
