FIREFIGHTERS used specialist hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue a man from a car after a collision with a lampost.
Emergency services raced to the scene in South Lanarkshire following the crash.
The incident took place on the A725, in Blantyre at around 4.30pm on Sunday.
After being freed from the car the motorist was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for a precautionary check-up.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Appliances from Hamilton Fire Station were sent to the incident following a request for assistance from ambulance control.
"Firefighters reached the scene within five minutes."
