A GROUP of children were threatened by a man with a knife at a train station.
Police said the incident happened at Ardrossan South Beach station last Friday.
The eight children - who are between 13 and 15-years-old - ran from the station and no-one was in injured.
It happened at around 10.30pm.
The suspect was wearing a grey hooded top, grey jogging trousers, a black sleeveless tank top style sweater and white trainers.
He was seen leaving the station with another man, who was wearing a white and blue track suit top, blue jogging trousers with white stripes and black and white trainers.
Detective Constable Javwaad Rai, said: "This was a frightening experience for all the young people involved.
"I am anxious to speak with anyone who was at the station and can help identify the man responsible to come forward."
