A GLASGOW student who disappeared nearly a week ago has been spotted in Manchester.

Police Scotland said there were two confirmed CCTV sightings of 21-year-old Manvir Singh, who went missing from Glasgow City Centre at around 4.45pm last Wednesday.

Officers carrying out inquiries found that Manvir boarded a bus at Buchanan Bus Station shortly before 11pm on Thursday.

There is another confirmed sighting of Manvir getting off a bus in Manchester shortly before 4am on Friday.

Chief Inspector Rob Hay of Kirkintilloch Police Office said: "We now have a very clear CCTV image of Manvir Singh arriving at Manchester bus station.

"At this time, it is unknown if he has friends or associates in that area.

"He may have travelled there to meet up with friends but it is highly unusual for him not to contact his family.

"It is almost a week since he was last seen in Glasgow and his family are very distressed at his disappearance and lack of contact. I would urge Manvir to contact his family and let them know he is safe and well. If, for whatever reason, he does not want to speak to them direct, then please contact police or a third party."

Anyone who has seen Manvir or has any information is asked to contact police at Bishopbriggs on the non emergency number 101.
