A NURSERY worker from Lanarkshire has tested positive for Tuberculosis.

NHS Lanarkshire said the patient, who works at Firtrees Nursery, is well and responding to treatment.

As a precaution, some staff and children who may have come into contact with the nursery worker are being offered screening.

Dr Josephine Pravinkumar, NHS Lanarkshire consultant in Public Health Medicine said the risks of transmission were low.

However a dedicated helpline has also been set up for parents at 0800 0 282 836.
