A lamp left behind by a punter is a Glasgow pub is going to be auctioned off for charity if no one claims it by this weekend.

The Evening Times online reported that Lebowskis in Finnieston's Argyle Street launched an appeal on its Facebook page to find the owner of "one of the more bizarre items of lost property".

The pub posted on Saturday morning that a lamp had been left behind in the pub and handed into lost property.

The post said: "One of the more bizarre items of lost property... If you lost you're lamp last night, we have it."

Immediately Facebook users responded to the unusual post.

Chris Burt said: "Surely someone can shed some light on this."

Darren Cowan joked, "Very shady."

Sophi Burns said: "People need to lighten up."

Kara Robertson added: "Might have been a Smiths fan from the recent Morrissey gig. There is a Light."

Lebowskis then posted on Sunday, "Still going unclaimed. #getthelamphome."

Now the owner of the pub is giving the customer who left the lamp behind until Easter Sunday to claim it.

If it is not claimed they will launch an auction on their Facebook page with the lamp going to the highest bidder.

The money raised from the auction will be matched by Lebowski's and donated to Yorkhill Children's Charity.
