A POPULAR Merchant City deli has closed suddenly.
The Peckham's branch in Glasgow's Glassford Street shut up shop yesterday with no warning.
The Merchant City branch of the food and drink chain included a deli and a cafe.
Peckham's also has a branch in Byres Road, one in Hyndland Road and two in Clarence Drive. There is also a branch in Edinburgh.
A member of staff at one of the other branches confirmed that the Glassford Street cafe had closed down, although nobody from the firm's head office was available to comment.
Peckham's went into administration in 2011, with a string of shops closing as a result.
Its first deli opened in Clarence Drive and it set up shops in desirable suburbs of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
