A MAN has died after being struck by a taxi as he crossed a road in Ayr.
The 70-year-old was on the westbound carriageway of Whitletts Road at around 10pm on Monday.
He was struck by a silver coloured Skoda Octavia private hire taxi and died at the scene.
The 52-year-old taxi driver who was alone in the car was not injured.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
