A elderly man has died after being hit by a car in a collision near Glasgow city centre.
The 78-year-old was hit by a BMW 3 Series travelling west on the Gallowgate at the junction with Abercromby Street, in the East End of Glasgow, at around 8.45pm on Friday night.
The pensioner, who was from Glasgow, was taken to hospital but later died. Relatives have been informed.
The Gallowgate was closed in both directions for approximately five hours.
Witnesses to the crash have been asked to contact officers at Glasgow Divisional Road Policing Unit on 101.
