Police are investigating after a player was assaulted during an amateur football match.
The 32-year-old suffered a fractured bone in his face after he was punched during a game at Lochmaben in Dumfries and Galloway on Saturday.
The incident happened near the end of a match between Lochmaben Amateurs and Chapelhall Thistle FC from Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, when a disturbance involving a number of people took place at the side of the pitch.
The victim, from Dumfries, was punched during the incident. He went to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment after the match.
Police appealed for information from anyone who was at the game.
