Police are appealing for information on a man who was found dead in Saltcoats on Saturday, January 24.

The body of 25 year-old Paul Fitzpatrick from Irvine was discovered at around 9.15am by a member of the public on the shore close to Seaview Road.

Detective Inspector William McDicken of Saltcoats Police Office said: "A post mortem examination has taken place and whilst there is nothing to suggest that there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Fitzpatrick's death, we are still working to establish his last movements in the local area.

"He was last seen in the Ardrossan, near Stanley Road around 8.30pm on Thursday,January 22.

"At that time he was wearing a red t-shirt, grey zipped top and grey tracksuit trousers.

"He is white around 5'9" in height and of slim build with light red hair.

"I would ask anyone who thinks they might have seen Paul in the Ardrossan area after this time to contact us, as they may be able to help us establish his last movements."

Information can be passed to Police Scotland on 101.
