Police in Cheshire are keen to speak to a man who might be from East Kilbride in connection with an allegation of sexual assault at the Creamfields Music Festival last August.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at the dance music event which is held in Daresbury during the August 2014 Bank Holiday weekend.

The victim, a woman in her early 20s from Scotland, reported the incident to police after the festival. The sexual assault is alleged to have occurred in a tent overnight between Sunday, August 24 to Monday, August 25, 2014.

Extensive enquiries have been carried out by Scottish and Cheshire police following the incident being reported, as a result of which a man was arrested.

But subsequent enquiries eliminated this man, and he was released with no further action.

Police are now keen to speak to the man pictured who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described as white, around 21 years of age, approximately 5' 8" tall and of medium build. He had dark hair which, at the time of the festival, was shaved all over.

At the festival, he was wearing a white short sleeved t shirt, and he had a chain around his neck with two rings on it.

He stated his name was Jaimie, he had a Scottish accent, and he may be from the East Kilbride area of Scotland.

Police are asking the man, if he recognises himself, to make contact with either Cheshire Police or Police Scotland on the non-emergency number 101,

Police are also asking anyone who may recognise the man to make contact on the same number, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers hotline 0800 555 111.
