A GANG of armed thugs robbed two teenage boys of their iPhones at knife-point.

Both robberies took place within 15 minutes at a Bonfire Night display in Kenmure Avenue, Bishopbriggs.

Police said none of the victims - aged between 14 and 16 - were injured but the incident was "really frightening".

The gang of older youths, who said they were from "The Milton", targeted one group of younger boys at around 8.15pm.

One thug, who was on a white mountain bike, threatened a 16-year-old boy with a knife and stole his iPhone.

The suspect is described as white, Scottish, around 17-years-old and of medium build.

He was wearing a grey Adidas hoody, dark blue jogging bottoms, and baby blue and white Nike Air Max 95 trainers.

Police said the second robbery took place just 15 minutes later, when the same gang chased a 14-year-old and stole his iPhone.

Detective Constable Alyson Paton, said: "The boys had been out enjoying a bonfire display when they were attacked by the youths.

"It was totally unprovoked and was really frightening for those involved.

"The older youths - who as said we believe may be from the Milton area - ruined the night for the boys.

"Thankfully no one was injured but the fact some of them were armed with knives and other weapons shows that this was a planned attack."

One suspect in the second robbery is described as "chunky", wearing a dark Nike hat, grey hoody, dark trousers and black Nike trainers.

The other is 5ft 7in tall, with ginger hair, a pale complexion and freckles. He was wearing an 'Ellesse' jumper and dark trousers.
