Man in hospital after suspected shooting

A MAN has been rushed to hospital with suspected gunshot wounds following and incident in Glasgow's East End.

Westmuir Street, near the Forge shopping centre, is currently cordoned off and there is a strong police presence in the area.

Police Scotland have confirmed that a man has been injured.

In a statement, they said: "We can confirm that a man was taken to hospital with suspsected gunshot wounds following an incident in Westmuir Street in Glasgow.

"The incident was reported to police at 1.10pm and officers are currently at the scene."
